Like CheeseCake said, Desperate Housewives has been a huge hit in America. The show got great press attention and reviews leading up to it's premiere on Sunday night, but shocked most observers by drawing 21.65 million viewers and a 13.6/20 making Desperate Housewives the most watched show of the week, the most watched new drama this season and ABC's highest rated premiere since Spin City in 1996. By the sounds of it, ABC are going to have a fantastic year and I hope they do because after a lot of flops, practically all of their new shows sound excellent.

However, Terri Hatcher has redeemed herself from the Radio Shack commercials. And the woman who plays Gabby...

EDIT -- HAHAH... I didn't realize I had posted here already, and I used redeemed both times. I'm just an Indiana Chucklehead!

I have a silly question. Has the show ended yet? Does it still air on Sunday nights?

Rose: When I was in school the kids made up a really mean nick-name for me just because I had hairy legs.
Blanche: What did they call you?
Rose: Rose-With-the-Hairy-Legs.

The narrator of the show, Mary Alice (I think), has just committed suicide and she now tells the stories of 5 women in Wisteria Lane.
There's Gabrielle, married too quickly and having a fling with the gardener.
Then there's housewife and mother-of-4 Lynette (quickly becoming my favourite!).
There's Brie (dunno how the hell to spell that) who is the perfect wife who's just had her husband say he wants a divorce.
Then there's single-mum Susan (Teri Hatcher from the modern Superman series) - she too could become of my favourites!
And then there's Edie, the man-eating divorcee. It's all very fun but so well-written. I'm just hooked.

Almost 5 million viewers tuned in for the first episode of Desperate Housewives last night, according to overnight ratings figures.
The comedy drama import, seen by over 20 million in the US, averaged 4.6 million viewers and a 24% audience share in the 10pm hour. The peak audience was 4.8 million (29%).
Although the audience fails to top ER's debut in 1995, which had 5 million, Desperate Housewives is Channel 4's highest-rated US premiere ever in terms of share.
Almost half a million turned to E4 immediately afterwards to watch episode two, giving the digital channel an impressive 6.3% multichannel share.
None of the figures take into account viewers who may have recorded the programme.
"We are delighted to start the year on such a high note following Channel 4’s excellent performance last year," said a C4 spokeswoman today. "Desperate Housewives has also been warmly received by critics and audiences alike and confirms our reputation for continuing to bring the best of US drama and comedy to UK audiences."
The channel has already secured the rights for the second series.

American drama Desperate Housewives' second episode drew nearly 5 million viewers and is promising to be a great hit for Channel 4.
Last night's episode enjoyed an average viewership of 4.8 million between 10pm and 11pm, reports the Guardian. This was 200,000 more than the show's launch last week.
The number of people tuning in to Channel 4 was practically double the number of those who chose to watch ITV1's Johnny Vegas sitcom Dead Man Weds. The show drew 2.7m viewers, considerably down on last week.
Housewives also beat BBC1's Paparazzi at 2.5 million but was topped by the 10pm News.
What did you think of the second episode Catherine? Did you manage to watch it Ché?
Personally, I'm loving the show and can see why it's such a huge hit in the US.

I love the show. It was fantastic again on Wednesday night and Lanette is definitely my favourite, she adds some comic relief.
