I'd like to write to the Girls, but I'm unsure of how to go about it - can someone help?

You can likely get that info from their respective official websites OR write them at the union for television actors:
American Federation of Television and Radio Artists {AFTRA}, which I'm pretty sure has website as well. They will ALL be members as you have to be to appear on television.

I do plan on writing Betty and Rue - as I am becoming a bigger fan of theirs lately!
I'd say - just go for it! It's usually best to keep letters 1 page - typed. And if you're requesting something back...include a SASE. I'm sure you'll get a response. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Betty, however, pays for her own postage. Just write her a letter, requesting an autograph, and you'll more than likely get a responce in 2-3 weeks. She's very quick, just like Bea and Rue.
I think the best thing with writing to the girls, is that they've started to cut sending out PrePrints... However, I do know that they do send PPs time to time.

and kinda funny, coz just yesterday i sat down and wrote a letter to betty white, without even reading or knowing this thread was here, ive planned to write to all 3 of the golden girls at some stage, and it happens that i decided on betty first, i hear shes great at sending out signed photos, ive written her a nice letter and requested a photo, im gonna send it off later today,
wish me luck,
im in england, shes USA, so it may take longer than 2 to 3 weeks for me.

thanks, im really excited, if you go to my website www27.brinkster.com/djsdallas - see im a huge Dallas fan, i love the ewings, and ive written to lots of the actors from that series, and i have some great responses, theyve sent me signed photos, signed cards, signed scripts, its really cool and the dallas cast seem to be great at replying,
and from what i read about the golden girls, in particular betty white, everybody says shes a great signer, and that you will get a photo, and no doubt it will have one of bettys animals in the pic too, so from that, i mention animals in my letter, i said that im an animal lover to and i told her the names of my cats and dogs!
funny isnt it, how , i think, betty, bea, and rue, are all animal lovers, and they support animal right groups and charities ect?
Anyway, im hopiung i will hear back real soon, just cant wait, if i do then the next step would be to write to either Rue or Bea, i think next will be Rue, i like her more.
Dan.
p.s. christina - i like your cinema picture on all your posts, its neat!

Hi Katie, since you have become an expert on getting autographs, could you advise us what to do when you're living outside the US. I can mail an self-addressed envelope, but where do I get stamps? Or is there another way?
Of course, anyone feel free to comment.

That was always my biggest concern, Golden guy! I wanted to write to the girls so many times but when I heard you had to send a stamped addressed envelope then my concerns were "where do I get the stamps, how big an envelope should I send?!" because you don't really know how big the photo is that they're going to send and whether it needs to be a cardboard-backed envelope to keep the photo from being bent. In the end, a good friend of mine [ in the US

But we cannot all ask for a favour from Katie, but I'm sure she's more than willing to give us some tips?

But for me it's hard too because I'm in the UK. So I'd have to have a letter weighed right cos it's going to the USA??

Thanks, Sam. Those are great photos. Years ago I LOST some personally signed stuff from performers when I went away to college and my Dad sold the house
(Ellen Burstyn, Richard Roundtree, Adrienne Barbeau-of Maude). Alas!
