Who comes in after Mr. Lucas? That dorky guy that sang "Chanson D'Amour" in the final episode? BLAH!!!

Yeah, that's the one, the tall soppy lanky one. I also didn't like Young Mr Grace' replacement which I believe came at the same time as Mr Lucas left. His replacement was a horrible creepy looking guy who was supposed to be Mr Grace' brother. It all changed from then on in so my collection stops at Series 7.

I have to play the Christmas episode every year at this time! I always burst out laughing at the part where Mr. Humphries faints when he's flashed by robotic Santa! :lmao: "Ho, ho, ho little boy, have I got a surprise for you!"
Stan: Hey, the way you leave that back door open, any idiot could walk in here.
Sophia: Any idiot did!

Blanche: Honey, sometimes you have to stoke a man's fire a little.
Sophia: Words of wisdom from the human torch!

Blanche: A gay theater director! Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Dorothy: That's absolutely shocking! Next thing you know, they'll have black basketball players in the NBA.

Oh god, I LOVE that scene :rotflmao: I'll have to try and find out which Series it's from and watch it while I put the Christmas tree up.

EDIT: Found it. Series 4: The Father Christmas Affair

I'm glad you found it, because I was going to ask tonight which season it was from! (My copy is on an old VHS tape, from when I recorded the Britcoms Christmas episodes marathon, in 1996!) I just watched it the other day again.

On another note, I agree with what you said a few posts back, about Mr. Graces' and Mr. Lucas' replacements. They were NOT as good as the original characters (Old Mr. Grace was a rather scary-looking fellow!)

Last Night I watched from series 9

Lost and Found
When Mrs. Slocombe's cat turns up missing, she decides that only Mr. Humphries could take its place.

Mrs Slocombe: I felt it in the canteen.
Mr Humphries: You felt what?
Mrs Slocombe: Our eyes met, and I knew you knew I knew you knew I knew you knew!
Mr Humphries: I knew nothing. :lmao:

Memories Are Made of This
When the handsome golf pro from Sports comes to the floor for a demonstration, he accidentally hits Mrs. Slocombe. She then thinks she's a little girl, wreaking havoc on the store as she cavorts around the department.

Mrs. Slocombe: Hi Big Ears! Where's Noddy? :lmao:

Last night I watched Are You Being Served? series 7

Mrs. Slocombe, Senior Person

I enjoyed this episode a great one

Mrs Slocombe: I like that. Stripes are very slimming, aren't they?
Mr Lucas: Let's put it like this. Have you ever seen a fat zebra? :lmao:

The Apartment

I also enjoyed this episode too another great one

Mrs Slocombe: There's only been me since Mr Slocombe was taken.
Mr Humphries: Was it very sudden?
Mrs Slocombe: Oh, there was no warning at all. The fraud squad came at eight o'clock in the morning. :lmao:

Mrs Slocombe: Do you sleep as nature intended?
Mr Humphries: Mrs Slocombe, I've never done anything as nature intended. :lmao:

I haven't seen this show in years. I used to watch it all the time, but haven't seen it on TV. Definitely going to get the videos of this. I miss watching it. I'm watching some episodes on YouTube right now. Hilarious.
Blanche: Sophia, I need you.
Sophia: Blanche, you were strong and independent long before I got here.
Rose: I need you too, Sophia.
Sophia: Rose, you need the Wizard of Oz.

Blanche: [to Sophia] My mistake. I thought since you look like Yoda you were also wise.

I watched Strong Stuff This Insurance from Series 7 last night. A classic. The end bit where they think the report Mr Harman is reading out is from their medical just cracks me up. Fast forward to approx 6 minutes in this clip...

Last night I watched Are You Being Served? Series 6 By Appointment

The staff prepares for a visit by the Queen. The visit is abruptly ended when Mrs. Slocombe accidentally pushes a flower pot out the window, nearly hitting the Royal Couple.

Miss Brahms: (about her chances of attracting the attention of Prince Charles) I have read that Royals married commoners before.
Mrs Slocombe: Commoners, Miss Brahms, but not dead common commoners. :lmao:

I watched By Appointment and The Club last night. The latter always cracks me up when they are decorating that room in the basement :rotfl:
