There are a lot of things to buy on ioffer, including Nurses and some other Susan Harris series (i.e. It Takes Two and Hail to the Chief, both of which starred Patty Duke). Not all episodes are available on this release. I would rather wait for BV to release it. For one thing, the episodes will be of top quality, and you never know if they will finally do some justice to the bonus features.

If a user named "Videohutt" is selling it, buy it; he/she has a 99.2% approval rating! I might consider purchasing something.

You can find the same set for less money and on fewer DVDs. I found a 14-disc set for $38 that I thought was worth taking a risk on. I received them yesterday and am loving it!! If you're interested in seeing the show, you'll probably be pleased with these discs if you can find them at a decent price from a good seller. They are from the original NBC airings, so no edited versions!! However, they are transfers from old VHS tapes, so don't expect perfect quality. However, the quality on the set I got is pretty decent (and DEFINITELY better than my 10-year-old VHS tapes).

The best news of all: The set contains the two episodes I didn't have on tape, so finally - after a decade - I have 'em all.

If you do decide to purchase, remember as Gary noted that not all 170 episodes are there. But you get a good sampling from all seven seasons, including the pilot and the finale.

Has anyone attempted to purchase any of the sets from iOffer? I must say, I like that site! I hadn't heard of it before, but there seems to be things there that I've never seen on eBay. For instance, here's a little Empty Nest tidbit I never knew about: Dinah Manoff and Park Overall (Carol and Laverne on EN, respectively) starred in a sitcom pilot for NBC back in the mid-80s from the same production team as TGG and EN! It was called "The Line." Dinah played a young mother who got a job as an assembly line worker in an airplane factory after her husband was fired; Park played one of her coworkers. I found a copy of the episode, along with some other long-forgotten TV show pilots, on DVD at iOffer.

"The Line" looked like it may have had some potential - it was funny and very well cast (also featuring Lori Petty of "A League of Their Own," CCH Pounder, Alfre Woodard, and the guy who played Babu Bhatt on "Seinfeld). It resembled TGG in the sense that the action seemed to revolve around a group of four women (Dinah, Park, Petty, and Woodard). I assume if the show had lasted, the friendship of those women would've been core to the action.

Although, I must say I'm glad it didn't get picked up because Dinah and Park found their way onto "Empty Nest" soon afterwards!

ioffer also has DVDs from other Witt/Thomas/Harris shows, including two short-loved Patty Duke shows: It Takes Two (ABC, 1982-83) and Hail to the Chief (ABC, 1985). An episode of each series can be found on YouTube. I have considered buying them, but I don't know too much about the site to really trust it.

That was a concern of mine as well. But it's like eBay in that you're dealing with individual sellers and can read reviews from past buyers. I used Paypal to make a purchase, so that was quick and easy as well. I've only made two purchases, but both went smoothly.

So you actually bought stuff from ioffer? Videohutt is the seller of the DVDs I want, and it seems to have good reviews for the most part, but I'm just not sure. The only thing is that these shows won't be aired ever again, and there's know way of knowing if Patty Duke fans will get them released onto DVD.

Yes, I've purchased a set of the Empty Nest DVDs and the DVD featuring some "lost" pilot shows. Both experiences were pleasant. I can't remember which seller I purchased the EN DVDs from - I was skeptical of those that said "31 DVDs featuring the entire series, 146 episodes" because there are 170 episodes, not 146. The set I got has 14 DVDs and 147 episodes (and was pretty clear about the fact that not all 170 episodes were there). The quality is about as good as you can expect from a VHS transfer - there are glitches here and there, but nothing that truly detracted from the enjoyment of seeing the original NBC airings. I liked the ability to pay through Paypal.

However, not all sellers take Paypal. In fact, I think (without looking to make sure) that Video Hutt is where I purchased the "Lost Pilots" DVD. They didn't take Paypal so I used a money order. Still a smooth transaction and I was pleased w/ the product I got.

This is starting to sound like a paid endorsement for iOffer, lol. Granted, those are my only experiences with the site, so I could've been lucky! I would be anxious to know if anyone purchased the 31 DVD Empty Nest set that claimed to have ALL episodes.

In that case, I might make the purchases.

Estelle was a regular cast member during the last two seasons, yes. She made a couple other guest appearances though in earlier seasons -- once during the first year ("Libby's Gift") and again during the fourth year ("Windy"). If you try the ioffer route, contact one of the sellers with the episodes you're looking for -- they may be willing to copy only those episodes for you.

I recently bought Empty Nest on ioffer and can't wait to get the episodes. I haven't seen the series since it first aired when I was a kid, but I can't wait to see the episode(s?) where they visit their ancestral home. I seem to remember a scene where Carol and Barbara get into a car accident (anyway, the airbags are employed) and Barbara starts yelling at Carol about wanting to see Stonehenge. LOL

Even though the last post in this thread is well over a year old, I thought I'd throw in my two cents over iOffer. I've bought the complete series of Our Miss Brooks, December Bride, and a big chunk of What's My Line? from the site and never ran into any problems. With Our Miss Brooks there was one defective disk out of 32 and the seller promptly replaced it. The only problem I did have was that the "complete series" of The Lucy Show I bought was missing 12 episodes. When I notified the seller after receipt though I did get a partial refund so all was well in the end.
