I'm surprised my Meet The Parents DVD plays fine on some players and not on others! I have 2 different players here and I experienced that quite strange isn't it? Does that have something to do with the lense? It works well on DVD players only but not on DVD recorders....

I had a similar problem with S1 of 3rd Rock from the Sun, Nougi. It played fine on my DVD player but not on my recorder. In the end I decided to replace it with a new one as they were very reasonable priced at the time.
This week I noticed that my Murder She Wrote DVDs are getting scratched by the packaging when I remove and re-insert them. I have the Seasons 1-5 box set and the DVDs are packaged in cardboard pouches. Thankfully, all of them still play OK but I was still worried about the future. So, I came up with a plan - I bought a pack of transparent plastic CD sleeves and have inserted each disc in one before putting them in the cardboard holders again. This means I can safely remove them without damaging them even more! Phew!
