I'm going to buy Dinnerladies on DVD next week. I absolutely love this show. I watched an episode on UKTV Gold last night and I was a wreck at the following quote...

Babs (to Bren): Do you know where I'm from?
Bren: Yeah, Urmston.
Babs: No, Urmston.
Bren: That's what I said!
Babs: Did ya? I can't always hear people talking, it's like I've got people talking in my head!

:rotflmao:

This is undoubtedly one of the best sitcoms to have come out of the UK.

I know this is a VERY long shot, but does anyone have a pic/screenshot of Babs (played by Kate Robbins) on Dinnerladies? I think she's freakin' hilarious! I'd like to use it as an avatar for various forums I'm in :D

Wow great news for Dinnerladies fans then! Series 1 shall definitely go onto my Xmas wish list. BBC sitcoms always remind me of Xmas because I always seem to get them around that time. I love settling down on Boxing night, popping in a new BBC DVD and scoffing down a big box of chocolates - bliss. :cheesy:

I can't understand why Series one came out a year later than series 2 though. They did the same with Gimme Gimme Gimme. Series one first, then a year later Series 3. Then a few months down the line, Series 2. There must be a logical explanation?!

I was watching my Series One tapes last night and while watching Moods I heard a joke that haven't been able to get for about three years:

in one scene (before Petula comes in with the police woman who she says looks like a white Nina Simone or something) Tony and Bren are filling in the accident book and Phillippa comes in and they start discussing what's gone on etc and Bren goes "and there's Anita's hurdo" and Phillipa goes "not gurdurati?...oh hairdo, see, got that wrong too"

Do you get it? :lmao:

Have you received your Dinnerladies book yet, Paul?

I've just been watching a Series 1 episode on UKGold, called 'Royals'. Very funny episode.

Twinkle comes out of the toilet in full night out make-up, hat well back on her head, overall unbuttoned to her cleavage, sleeves rolled up...

Tony: Twinkle.
Twinkle: What?
Tony: Do you want to get a job in an upstairs window in Amsterdam, or shall we try and cling on to our little foothold in catering?

:rotfl:

I'd forgotten how funny this show is! How could I?! I watched the Millennium episode last night, and it was hilarious.

Phillipa: "Get in the bloody bloody friggin' car!" :rotlfmao:

Whyon earth did this show end. Why is it all great british comedy shows only last a few years
I'm Blanche Devereaux and I know it isn't pertinent at the moment, but... I'm double-jointed.
